GISBORNE, December 12. A second burglary in a shop in the main street within a fortnight occurred during the week-end, the premises entered on this occasion being the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Company’s ironmongery and hardware shop in the centre of the town.
The intruders were disturbed before effecting entry to the safe, containing about £4O. The thieves removed riysor blades, a wristlet watch, and electroplate ware from showcases/. The safe was dragged out of its recess and with a brace from the shop, the intruders! bored a small hole through the back. Then, apparently, one man opened a door leading into a window, and in doing so, knocked down a large vase and, frightened at the subsequent crash, they left hurriedly.
