INDIAN CONFERENCE
DRAWING TO A CONCLUSION.
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, December 10. There was no meeting of the Indian Round Table Conference yesterday or to-day, but arrangements are provisionally made for a sitting early next week, probably on Tuesday, to take up one of the three main heads of subjects still to be considered. The Conference is keeping well abreast of the programmes mapped out in advance, and the business will probably be completed by December 20th. In resorting to the committee method of dealing with the suggestions now under immediate examination, the Conference was guided by the fact that they are mainly questions, not of principle, but of adjustment.
The Federal Finance Committee and the Anglo-Tndian Education Committee have arranged for a further meeting on Monday, but, so far, no date has been fixed for the first meeting of the Financial Safeguards Committee.
