Uniformed Nazis hurled themselves at the spectators, who joined in the fray on the stairs leading to the public galleries, hurling a table which smashed a candelabra; Several were injured, and the session was temporarily adjourned. The brawl was th<? result ol ti terrible explosion in a PremO.itz dyoworks, killing seven, being made the pretext for an anti-capita,Pst outburst. Later th 0 attack switched to Hindenburg, whom the Communists described as responsible for the Versailles Treaty. The battle ended with the Communists being driven by superior numbers into their own lobby. A number of the contestants were cut and bruised, but the worst -sufferers were the public officials who, with arms outstretched,' sought to separate the brawlers.
