The first day of the ’Woodville Jockey Club’s summer meeting was held in fine weather with a fair attendance. The track was in perfect order. The tot e handled £5506 ) compared with £7518 last year, a decrease of £2012. Results:
Mtmgatua Hurdles(4) Riotous 1; (3) Manuiri 2; (6) Ex Dono 3. Won by a length. Time 2.51 3-5. Maiden Plate:—(2) Acron lj (1) Fladiei 2; (4) Bonnie Vale 3. Won by a head. Time 1.15 4-5.
Bolton Handicap: —(1) Tiger-ism 1; (2) Chopin 2; (3) Ruanui 3. Won by 'a .head. Tim© 2.7 3-5. Nursery Handicap :—(2) Bon Rapide 1; (7) Arise 2; (1) Gipsy Love 3. Won by half a neck. Time 1.3 1-5. Oete Handicap : —(2) Royal Bengal 1; (1) fiiou'chong 2; (3) Lack 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.14. Mnngarawa Handicap:—(6) Ealse Scent 1; (3) Copper King 2; (6) Navaho 3. Won by a length. Time 1.14 2-5.
Whbriti Handicap:—(3) Chocksay 1; (9) Brambletorn 2; (10) Greenhorn 3.’ Won by 3 of a length. Time 1.57. Borough Handicap:—(l) Gold Trail 1; (2) Carfex 2; (5) Anemometer 3. Won by a head. Time 1.30. An enquiry was held into interference with Royal Hunting by Royal Bengal diming the running of the Oete Handicav. P. Atkins, rider of Royal Bengal, was held to have come over on Royal Hunting, and was suspended for fourteen days for careless tiding.
