When fishing at the tip last evening the attention of two men was drawn to a fish which was splashing in the shallow water of a receding wave. A <1;;sli to the scone resulted in the fish being caught before it could regain deeper water. It proved to be a quinnat salmon and weighed in the vicinity of tv o pounds. It was thought that it had been frightened by larger fish close inshore and had come to rest on the beach in its effort to escape from their attenions. -
