THE TEAM FOR SECOND TEST.
SEVERAL CHANGES SUGGESTED
- (Australian Press Association.)
(Received this day at 10.25 a.m.l SYDNEY, December 7.. The morning papers urge the selectors to choose new men for the second test—men who have courage and ability to stand up to fast bowling. The “Telegraph’s” cricket writer .stays that only six of the present.team should be included in the next—McCabe, Fingleton, Richardson, Wall; O’Reilly and Oldfield. Even the pilot Wood-full should be thrown overboard. “He did not look like getting runs at any stage, in either innings. O’Brien, Nitschke, Oxenham and Hird are suggested for the second test by several critics. It is generally agreed that England’s victory is due to Larwood’s great bowling. At the same time the Australian batsmen revealed very poor form.
