Twenty Lan e County (Oregon) farms will be given away absolutely free to bona ti-cle farmers who have the cash to operate them successfully. The fa.rnys wore acquired by the county for delinquent taxes. The climate. of mountain or seashore, which eve r is desired, will be available to qvery home in the United States by the summer of 1933 — at no greater cost than the present heating furnace. That is the prediction of Mr Eugene D. Milener, of New York, industrial researeh representative of the American Gas Association, who spoke before the annual convention of its natural gas department recently. By a s'mp'e turn of' a switch, he eaid, the same machine that cools in .summer will heat in winter. Further tests will be made in five sections of the country, so that the devices may be adapted to varying u*hnates.
