£IOOO IN GOODS STOLEN,
FROM CHRISTCHURCH HOMES

- CHRISTCHURCH, December 5. A theft of goods valued at over £IOOO sterling from seventeen houses in and about the city was admitted to-day by Wallace Mansell Jones, van unemployed cannenter, who was committed to ,the Supreme Court for sentence. The polite said that the man had concentrated on ithei better class homes over va period of a year, and that one third of - the goods had been recovered.
BREACHES OF GAMING ACT.
GISBORNE, December 5.
Early yesterday morning the police raided a house in Grey Street, and, as a. crsult, fourteen men were charged in the Police Court with breaches of the Gaming Act. They were remanded until Friday.
