MR ATMORE AND THE COALITION. ) SPEECH AT PALMERSTON. PALMERSTON N., November 29. When speaking to-night on tlie present.economic situation, Mr H. Atmore, M.P., levelled some criticism at recent legislation passed in this respect. Mr Atmore advocated the establishment of <a system of State credit as a nitioS.L of overcoming’ the present scourges oi l-uomploymAit, over-production, and under-consumption. 'Mr Atmore strongly criticised the policy of the Coalition Government, and said he predicted that the Government despite .any measures that it passed to extend the term of it< life would not last out the term. The following resolutions wer e carried unanimously: “That this meeting is of opinion that monetary reform is of the utmost importance, and .the immediate arrest of progressive deflation is a condition precedent to a restoration of national prosperity, and that no other measures can function as effficiept substitutes.” “That this meeting; draws the attention of the Government to the grave menace to New Zealand and Fmmiy shipping existing in th ft suteVliiscd Matson Line, and calls on the Government to take steps to protect our Mercantile Marine,”
