Arrangeniens have been, madie l.y tlve Broadcasting Board to broadcast tlna remits of the England v. Au.Sr tralja test cricket matches. Thvsa matches will begin on December 2, Doceuiber 30 January 13, February 10 and February 23. The Board lias arranged for thi e despatch from Sydney at the conclusion of each day’s play, a cabled report which would be broadicast from the four YA stations. It was hoped to have the message by 9. p.ni., and it would give general particulars of the play, as well as individual achievements and scores.
A resolution recommending the Government to permit no further liberations of opossums', and to declare no more close seasons until the effect of the opossum on native flora and wild life-had been ascertained, was mode •at a meeting of the Auckland Zoological Society last- week.
