WELLINGTON, November 29. For the first time in its history, New Zealand "ill be without any Rhodes scholars this year. The selection committee, met at Government House to-day. ' After five candidates had appeared before it and after protracted deliberations upon their merits, it was resolved to make no award. It is understood that the meeting was the longest selection committee meeting ever held. Victoria University College did not nominate any candidates, and Otago University only made one nomination, but Auckland and Canterbury Colleges both submitted two students. r lhose present at the meeting, at which Lord Me disloe presided, vyreThe Chief Justice, Professor d.
