Tue entertaini,. nt was opened- by Miss Ethel Wallace in a violin solo, and she at once won the approval of those present. In each of several loilowing number the artist continued to u„n even mere approval, and every app.arance was a welcome one, with nearty recalls. Miss Mary Pratt, contralto soloist, nex& appeared and again there was very mariced evidence of approval. A recall followed (insistently and; at every appearance the singer gave great pleasure, her stage app.arance at once receiving a ready approval. In her well selected numbers of great variety, Miss Pratt won the wholehearted approval of her pleased audience, and she was accorded a specially warm and rapturous acclamation at the conclusion. With the two assisting soloists having made a most favourable impression, a warm welcome was given to Master Lex MacDonald the talented boy soprano, and it was soon 'easy to understand the sensation created wherever the young lad has given voice to hu.i great ability. A special feature of the entertainment was the artistic accompaniments supplied by Mrs Ernest Drake, which added in marked measure to the very general success and enjoyment.
