GANG WAR

CLASH IN STREET.

SYDNEY. November 19

Reviving the bloody street battles of old, gangiTof hoodlums at Eedlern.and Alexandria yesterday staged two sensational fights. Consequently, two men are in the hospital and two moie under arrest.

The most spectacular clash was Henderson Road, where about thirty youths and men battled “alb in ’ for nearly ten minutes. A body of police then put them to flight. As the fighters fled many of them were seen to be bleeding from nasty cuts, and others had split lips and blackened eyes.' Two young fellows were caught' by the police, and taken to Redfern Station. At the same time a young men was picked up injured and taken to South Sydney Hospital, the climax to an old fued between the Police believe that the brawl was gangs.

Another clash between gangs'occured outside Alexandria Town Hall, and finished in the local park. An injured man who had been brutally kicked and punched was found in the park and taken to the local hosp tal. In Kettle Street, Redforn, a man was s 3 :id to have been attacked and scalded with boiling water. AVhen police arrived they were told that he wandered away. Later at the same bouses, it was reported' that two men fought and one wedded a lorded stick.
