LATE LOCALS
A blackbird recently selected the under-carriage of a farm waggon belonging to a farmer, Manaia Road, Taranaki, as a, place of nesting. The ne;-t was made, eggs were laid and hatching commenced all unknown to the. owner until one day while at the dairy factory he was surprised to sve a bird flv away from the waggon. The bird was back at the homestead before the waggon returned and sitting on the eggs was resumed. This was continued despite the daily journey to the factory, and now a family of young blackbirds has arrived.
