SOLICITOR ADMITS THEFT.

Matthew Prust Stewart, aged 37, a solicitor, to-day admitted! ' stealing £2161 of bis clients’ funds and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. One client, a farmer, aged 75, said that he instructed accused, whom lie trusted, to invest £7OO on mortgage. He received three payments of interests on the supposed mortgage, but eventually discovered his name did not appear on it. ' Accused was allowed ball at £SOO.
