CRICKET
COMMENT ON LAST MATCH
(Australian Press Association.)
(Received + b ; i day at 9,25 am) SYDNEY, November 23. Commenting on the Australian eleven match, the “Herald’s” cricket writer says: “Apart from other surprising features, the match wtas marked by memiarkaitip bowling perfornianctes. Larwood was the star for England, while Nagel, Oxenham and Ironmonger performed exceedingly well for the home eleven. Nagel’s success in routing England on a good wicket is hailed with delight by olid players, who have regretted the passing oif the “spin and flignt” school of medium paced howlers.”
The “Telegraph” says: “As things wer© going, the combined team were fortunate that rain fell, as defeat seemed to be staring it in the face with Woodfull and Bradtnan out.”
The “Labour Daily” says: “After the dismissal of Bradfman and Woodfull it was anybody’s game.”
