17,000 FT. DESCEND IN 20 MIN
+V j day at 9.2 A a ml CAPETOWN, November 21. A South African, George Kerr, of Durban, established a parachute jump record of 17,300 feet. He stated: “I began losing strength at 17,C00 feet, and I let .go without warning the pilot, and foil hundreds of feet before pulling the rip l cord. I swung violently, the cold later turned to Warmth. 7 smoked cigarettes, and chewed bisuits to counteract the sickness, drifted ten miles and' wc.s twenty minutes in descending.”
