FLOCK HOUSE, ANNUAL MEETING
t Per Press Association — Cop'grightA \ WELLINGTON, November 18. The annual meeting of subscribers to Flock House was held td-day. Mr Edward Newman was re-elected Chairman of the trustees and Mr R,. Davis, auditor. A motion was carried recording appreciation of the service staff. The report mentioned the year had been one of m greatest difficulty for farmers but the inquiry for Flock House boys exceeded the supply. DOMINION SCOUT COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, November 18 The Dominion Boy iSbout Council was opened by the Governor-General, Dominion Chief Scout. He referred to the growth of the movement in the Dominion. The membership was now (12,404, a net increase of 588 for the year. He welcomed the increase. The scout movement was being put by economic adversity to <a supreme test of efficiency as an outstanding factor to advance civilisation. It was his earnest hope and confident belief that it would issue with 'an enhanced prestige, and an even wider acknowledgement of its national utility. INQUIRY INTO 1 FIRE. MARTON', November 10. The Coroner’s Court was engaged all day yesterday investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire in the dwelling owned and occupied by Mrs G. T. Avery, senr.
Detective Quirke of Palmerston North appeared for the police, and Mrs Avery was represented by counsel. The' insurance company was not represented, it being intimated that the claim was not disputed. After lengthy evidence the Coroner reserved! his decision.
