FIRE AT KOKATAHI
KOKATAHI HOTEL,
TOTALLY DESTROYED
A fire at 4 o’clock this morning totally destroyed the Kokatalii Hotel, the licemije being Mr E. T. Sherriff. When discovered the fire had a big hold on the building, and with no fire fighting appliances available, the building Wak razed to the ground, those present endeavouring to save some of th 6 furniture and effects. The fire was eeen by the nightwatchman on the bell tower at No. 1 fire station (Foreman J, J, Williams) and duly reported, The insurances are as follows, in the South British 'office:—Building £850; stock in bar £3O, piano £lO, furniture £3OO, billiard table £SO. Total £1240.
