BAG SNATCHER,

CHRISTCHURCH, November 16. A young woman walking in Carlton Mill Road, had her handbag, containing a considerable sum of money, in notes and silver, snatched from under her arm by a cyclist, who made a quick escape. The victim, in this case, ■was Miss A. M’Donald, who resides at 12, Exeter Street. . Miss M’Donald, who is a dressmaker in Cashel Arcade, had' been working late. After leaving a tram at Bealey Avenue, she was near the corner of Exeter Street when a man, who had apparently been following her on a' bicycle, rode on to the footpath alongside her and, as he passed, snatched the bag. Miss M’Donald was hampered by a suit-case and in addition; ivas given too much of a shock to be able to do anything, and the thief made off. He had neither lamp nor red reflector on his bicycle and, Miss M’Donald states, appeared to be well-dressed.
