COOKS’ AND STEWARDS’ DISPUTE

WELLINGTON, November 16.
The marine cooks’ and stewards’ dispute WitjS again before the Conciliation Commissioner to-day. A number of machinery clauses were agreed to, but there was no agreement as .to hours and wages. A motion that the dispute he referred to the Court was lost. The Commissioner will notify the Clerk of Awards of the failure to effect a settlement, and a month later, the award will expire.
