“BAD THEOLOGY.”
“.As you probably know, I am a member of no Church, because there is so much that I cannot accept in the theology associated with existing Churches. It is, therefore, as a freethinker that I am addressing you, though one whose reasoning has led him to a clear recognition of spiritual reality a-s the only reality. Do not tiiink that, since I am engaged in scientific'Wdrk. this recognition alienates me in’ any way. from my work or from my fellowship with oth'M* ‘Wen*’” workers. It is just the opposite. We are all engaged in the pursuit of truth, though of different partial aspects of it. The recognition that spiritual reality, as the pursuit of truth, is embodied in all scientific work brings us more closely together ; and w e are st>ll together when we are fighting against what seems to us to he bad theology." —Professor Haldane.
