The opening prices for the lamb export season on the hooks at Southdown and Westfield are:

361 b. basis 4 371 b. to 421 b 3 Over 421 b. and seconds ... 3
Compared 1 with the opening rates last year th© prices show a reduction cf v 2|d per lb. on the 361 b. basis. However, last season the opening prices were announced in October, and in November the rates were only Id to 2d per lb. higher than this year at 5d to fid per lb Tire schedule of prices was delayed this year owing to tlie unsatisfactory state of the London market and the low prices which have been current.
