FOOTBALL EXTRA OR DIN ARY

Scenes never before witnessed at big Association football matches occurred in, the North of England in the week-erid, when several games were suspended and ended farcically, owing to the weather.
At Blackburn there was an astounding spectacle of two teams rushing for shelter during a cloudburst. There was a delay* of 25 minutes, while the players spend under shelter, but exposed to extremely cold winds.- During this period the referee fainted, •and three of the Blackburn players collapsed from cramp, The game finished under the control of a linesman and with depleted teams. At the finish the whole team was attended by doctors.
At Blackpool, O’Dowd, Chelsea’s international centre-half, fainted on the touch-line through exhauston. In the second half of the same game four other Chelsea players and a Blackpool nian left the field, amid hoots from the crowd. Chelsea' fought out the last 15 minutes of the game with only six men, who were cheered repeatedly by the spectators.
