TWO YOUNG BOYS DROWNED. ;

SYDNEY, November 13,
A double drowning occurred at Casino yesterday. The victims were two boys, Kevin Mahoney,* aged eleven, and Mervyn Rodicott, aged nine. Their canoe overturned in the Richmond River. Neither was able tfi swim.
THROWN BY HORSE AND KILLED.
DUNEDIN, 1 November 14
The body of James Riddell, 65 years of age, a single man, was found on the beach near his home at Wiekliffe Bay yesterday. Deceased owned a number of young race horses which he exercised on the sand, and the mount he was riding on Wednesday afternoon was found with a turned saddle, and stirrup strap missing. Mr Riddell’s injuries indicate that he had been thrown by the breaking of the stirrup leather, and kicked and dragged. Deceased was a brother of the 'ex-MiagistAate, MV Riddell, of Wellington.
