TUNNEL COLLAPSES
MILLERTON PROSPECTOR KILLED

The collapse of a tunnel at the Rough and Tumble mine, Mokihinui, yesterday morning resulted in the complete burial of AVm Douglas, a young Alillcrton man. According to messages received, the body has not been recovered, and owing to the large amount of debris, it is stated this cannot be accomplished before Alonday. It appears .that with R. Dickson and R. Bradley, deceased was engaged driving a tunnel, when it collapsed. The. other two escaped, but Douglas was trapped, A party of miners left Seddonville this mo’rning to assist in the rescue work.
Deceased, who lived at Millerton with his mother, was about 27 years of age. His father, Sam" Douglas, died at Millerton some years ago. He is also survived by a brother, Jim, and a sister Ena. He was a very popular young man, and all sympathy will be extended to his mother, Mrs Nutt and relatives.
RECOVERY OF THE BODY

The body was recovered twenty-four hours after the accident, and removed to the deceased’s home a Millerton.
