BY AN' ANONYMOUS DONOR. LONDON,, November! 1. Officials in the London office of tlie Royal Society for the Prevention of 'Cruelty to Animals recently received a very pleasant surprise. An elderly man and hi, 3 wife placed two suitcases on the counter and proceeded 1 to- check off £IO,OOO, ad in bundles of one hundred pound notes. To the amazed official the nvan explained that lie and his wife had decided to give the £IO,OOO anonymously to the society after hearing of its difficulties' and of the attacks being made upon it. Having handed the money over, they refused to accept any thanks- from the official and gave no answer to his request for their names and address. The whole proceedings were carried out by the man and his wife in the most matter-of-fact way, and they left igorant of, or unconcerned with, the sensation they had paused. \
