SOME FACETIOUS COMMENT.

The introduction of the Poultry Amendment Bill this afternoon, g've rise to a. great deal of what the Minister for Agriculture (the Hon. C. E. Macmillan) called facetious comment. Mr H. 'S'. S. Kyle (C., Riccnrton'i, who led the opposition to- the Bill, said he inippcised the day would. Come when each chicken had to- be named and entered in the registration book. Mr A. M. Samuel (C., Thame- ): Wait tilt the chickens come home to roest.

Mr Macmillan said the Bill would noV apply to poultry other than ducks and hers (laughter), and the re'gi'Stration of poultry less than rix old would not be required. That, added the Minister, would answer the complaints of— A member: The chickens.
