VISITOR TO USE AEROPLANE
AS MEANS OF SAVING TIME.
AUCKLAND, November 8.
Probably the-longest bui iineiss trip by aeroplane ever made in New Zealand • will! be commenced to-morrow morning iby Mr R. E. B. .Worth,, of Stourport, 'England, and Mr .H. T. Merritt, of 'Auckland, in the. Auckland Aero Club’s 'Puss Moth monoplane. Captain Hewitt Uviit act. as pilot throughout the trip, | which will include visits to the prin- ' cipal towns of both the North and South Jsl.ands, and will occupy about a fortnight.

The trip is being made purely on business, Mr. Worth wishing, to,. visit as many of the larger towns as possible before returning to England, By . using ah aeroplane be will be able to .spend the minimum amount of time in travelling, and he plans to.cover about . about 1600 milrs by air during the i fortnight, the total flying time Rung only about 16 huers. The Puss Moth can cruise at over 100 miles an hour in still air, and carries a pilot, two passengers, and a small quantity ■of luggage. The machine will leave the Mangere Aerodrome at 7 A. lll. to-morrow, and jwiU fly to New Plymouth. Hawera. and Wanganui, where the night will be sne-nt. On Thursday th.e tr'n " ill be continued to Palmerston North ahd •Wellington, .where Friday will he spent, While on Saturday Nelson will be visitlied in the m-rmimr; tb? nmehino i-c----turning to Wellington for the night. On Sunday a'flight to Invercargill will be undertaken, and on Monday a landing will .be made at Dunedin. Next Wednesday, November I6fch, the party ;will call at Timaru and continue to Christchurch, where two days, Will be spent, -On Friday, November, 18tlij, the aeroplane will return to Wellington, and will later fly hack to Auckland by easy stages, calling at Mastefton, Napier, and, Gisborne. It-is planned' to land at Mangere. about November 23rcl.
The schedule arranged will be maintained as nearly as possible, although alterations may have to lie made on account of, weather conditions.-. In preparation for the .trip the engine of the Puss Moth was. overhauled last week, apd the machine ..was used for short passenger flights at the week-end.
