The King’s Bench jury, awarded Level- Bros. £20,000 damages. for libel - ftg'sinSt William, Af. jftneale, and Lfeorge iiarvey Bagnall. Sir Patrick . liastipgs said' the substance of the libel was an. allegation that Lever Bros, and the directors had teen a colossal fraud. Hastings stigmatised the statements 'as blackmail.
' Justice Branson granted an injunction, restraining the defendants from publishing similar libels, and warned them that, disobedience Would result in imprisonment for contempt/
