An exposure of tortures inflicted on conviotß at the Sunbeam prison camp is, expected during tie trial (-of a charge of murder which begins here to-day. ■ George Courson, a warder, and Solomon .Higginbotham, a guard, are acused of the “sweatbox”' murder of Arthur (Maillefert, a young prisoner. The sweatbox is a dark nnrow and vertical coffin-like box, in-‘which a prisoner with stocks on his f® e t and a. chain round his neck,-is fastened. The prisoner is compelled to stand rigid in it in the blazing sur. for a voilation of camp discipline.'' The entire Southern chain-gang system is expected.' to be revealed, showing 'how the guards wield metaltipped whips on their victims and use foot-spikes and other mediaeval inhumanities, - ,
