. -In the House of Representatives this ' morning the Privilege Committee presented* its 1 report* upon various matters referred to it. , ' AVith reference to a statement by Mr Mclntosh concerning Members of ; Parliament in- an addendum to the National Expenditure Comm.ssjon’s rethe Committee' stated Mr McIntosh -had declined to explain his .eferenoes? and' while the Committee regretted this attitude, it- recommended, in' view of- his advanced age, that 10 further action be taken. Reporting on the matter of a tending article in the' Wellington “Domhion,” the Committee-foAnd, a breach “•if privilege had betn committed, os- ' peciallyt in certain paragraphs. Mr Earle? Editor 0 f the “Dominion” had acnimunicated with the committee.md attended in person, and the committee recommended that his expression of rerget snoitld he accepted -and no further action be t^ken. With respect to an article in. the Christchurch “Sun” heeded “M.P. ’Criticised,” the Committee reported that tile- managing director of the “Sun?” Mr lliiie, had attended, and ■ unreservedly expressed regret, and the Committee therefore recommended ’ that no further action be taken.
