MELBOURNE, November 3. The weather was fine and the attendand good for to-day 1 s V.R.C. races. Chatham made amends for the Cantala Stakes failure by a. brilliant run in the Linlithgow Stakes. He also won this race last year. His rider, jjdunro, has won twice previously on .Amounis. f Kuvera was last at the turn, , but finished hrilliantyl in the Carnival he won. . The trainer, George Price and the rider, M.‘ McCarten, are both former New Zealanders.
The New Zealander, Havering, finished well, and was a trifle unlucky.
Maiden Plate.—Panoramic 1; Jimmie Boy 2; King AquiUa 3. Won by % length. Time 1.40. Byron Moore Stakes.- —Lisburn 1; Blixten 2; Garraveen 3, Won by J of a length. Time 1.2 J. Linlithgow Stakes.—Oatham 1; Dermid 2; Witiooka 3. Won by 3 lengths. Time 1.38.
Carnival Handicap.—Kuvera 1; Turbine 2; Elmaros.3. Won by a neck. Time 2.6|. Oiaks stakes.—Protea 1/; Segati2; Diitchie 3. AVon by 2.lengths. Time 2.355. Veteran Stakes.—Mokitia. 1; Eureolo 2; Havering. 3. AA T on by Jof a length. Time 2.32.
