ALL SAINTS’ BAZAAR
A GREAT SUCCESS.
The annual fair in aid of the funds of All tiamto’ Church, took place, yesterday iu the Soldiers’ Hall, . The Ladies’ Guild ware in charge of the general arrangements, and had been /preparing for. soma ? months. The result of tneir efforts was? shown in the large quantity oi'.. articles of every description that were on sale in the various staiL. There was a . capital attendance present when the . formal opening took place the Mayor (Mr. G. A Perry) declaring the 'Mzaar open at the conclusion of a short speech in which he congratulated the ladies-
on their fine collection of goods, and ’ wished them every; success. There wore a number of ~ stalls, including ; fanoy goods and 'work, . plain sewing, baby goods, sweets ; stall, produce. stall - and miscellaneous, while the tea room was a very pleasant retreat. There was a bevy o£< workers who'were kept
busily employed, disposing of their wares and a very satisfactory result of their labours was reported at .the
conclusion
THE BABY SHOW
One feature that proved of .great interest was the Baby Show for' which there were some 25 entries. The third display was of fashionable' spring land summer coats rMiss Alya Mclntosh, miitary coat in spring green finished with a green felt hat. . <•'■

Mrs Arnold Perry, saxe blue coat and fashionable straw hat to match. 7 Miss Phyllis Dowell, nigger brown diagonal doth coat, smart eoarf and polished staw-hat to match. Mrs McManaway, fawn tweed military coat, smartly trimmed' with rust j " natty brown hat, • ; ' AH carried gloves and bags in keep* ing with the coats worn. The fourth display was afternoon . frocks:— * " ?
Mrs Arnold Perry, green and beige floral frock, fur stole, pandan sailor to match. • ; ■ ’
Miss Rita Borton, brown frock with contrasting floral yolk and flecked straw hat to tone.
Mrs McManaway,' royal blue, georgette combined with lace ; blue straw bat in the-same shade.'
Miss Phyllis Dowe’-l, two piece frock in brown relieved with' rust and a felt hat in rust completed the outfit.,-
The fifth display of beach pyjamas caused some merriment and , proved .very popular. The ones taking part were Miss Win. Stevenson, hJLrs MoManawny and Miss' Phyllis Dowell.,. The costumes were in red, white and y blue and Japanese parasols also added effect.
The last but not least was the bridal display:—To. the strains of “Here Comles the Bridie”, the sis Bridesmaids appeared and formed an arch with their bouquets. The Bride (Miss Phyllis Dowell) who. looked exquisite in a. frock of white georgette and lace, world, a coronet of orange blossom which held a beautiful embroidered veil in place. She earned a sheaf of lovely pink and white lilies. Wee Jean McManaway made a dainty little train bearer in «n early Victorian frock carrying a posy. She also carried out her part admirably. The. maids of honour were Mrs Arnold Perry, dainty pink georgette and lace; Mrs McManaway, cameo pink geoFgette; Miss Rita Borton, in soft shade of green, with lace coatee; Miss Alva, Mclntosh wore a dainty frock of green floral georgette. All wore fyrge< crin hats with velvet flowers to tone.. Misses Jessie and Win. Stevenson wore frocks in soft shade's of blue and pink floral georgette. Their lai<ge tulle hats with soft feathers finished a dainty outfit. Three of the beautiful bouquets which were a feature of the display had already done ; service.'earlier in. the day at a previous wedding and the other four bouquets, which. spoke for themselves, were the artistic work of Misses Yarn-ill and Robinson, the local florists. It is worthy of mention that, all frocks etq. were New Zealand made..
