EFFORT TO KIDNAP DAUGHTER. TRIED TO PREVENT MARRIAGE. LONDON, October 18. A father’s alleged attempt to kidnap his daughter, 'who was entering a registry office to get married by special license, caused 'a wild struggle in th< mr’u sG'pr't of Bodmin (Cornwall). The father, accompanied by a party 'll ,, r \ m. ...... u *.ll® 6 .fi . waiting car, and attempted to pinio’ down his screaming daughter. The commotion attracted an angry crowd, ■and the girl was eventually rescued by the bridegroom and the police. During the struggle the girl was rolled unceremoniously —the pavement. tier stockings wer e tom, and her dress was • crumpled. Nevertheless, she was smiling when the marriage ceremony was performed. It is stated that the couple attempted to marry a few months ago, when the girl was under age. She recently attained hler majority.
