CLOSING DAY FOURSOMES. END OF SUCCESSFUL SEASON. The Hokitika, golf ’ season ' eyas brought to a conclusion on Saturday with a mixed foursome. The c-onctr-tioni.i were again idtal and fitting.y concluded a reason remarkable for its ■excellent weather—the full men’s progiunme for ti.e year being coin-p-.Qted. The winners of the foursomes were Cagney and M-ss lotto who were however closely followed by several other pairs. At the conclusion of the play the chib captain (Mr J. C. Macfarlane) presented the trophies won during the year—the recipients being accorded appluiu&cj. The Champiunship Honour Board was then unveiled and .'.bowed the club champions since the inception of the club in 1936. The prize winners for the year and the names shown on the toard are given below. The captain referred 1 to the handsome trophy tin t had been presented this year by Mr H. Newman for annual competition in. match play. The valuable cup which forms the trophy for the men’s captain’s and secretary’s match was this year won butright by the captain, who has been successful for three successive years.

Mr W. Wilson, in presenting the cup to the 6aptain, said' that the recipient had generously donated the cup for further competition. Reference was r.lso mad's to the scroll of merit • Which had been won by the R"t in the match, .Public Service V: The Rest'. "
