WAIKATO BARGE ACCIDENT. (l er Press Association— Copyright) HAMILTON, October .28.' 1 Filial’ 1 injuries were sustained by Leslie Gordon, aged 38, of Mercer, a skipper employed by ‘the Loose Shipping Coy,,' while loading, logs on to a br.i'ge on the Waikato River, half-way between Hamilton and Cambridge today. A winch chain snapped, inflicting a crushing blow on Gordon, .who ..as brought to Hamilton by a boat, nit he expired on arrival. He leaves i wife and ten children. BOY CYCLIST KILLED. DUNEDIN, October 28. Stewart Ikin, a- schoolboy, aged id, received fatal injuries tins , afternoon, as the result of a, fall from a bicycle. The boy while' riding down York ■Race, collided with a little girl, and 6 died on the way to the hospital, file g.rl was aslo seriously injured. THEFTS IN CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, October 28. During the past two days, two big loads of stolen goads, one of clothing and one of general merchandise, valued :in all at £4OO, have been recovered by the Chrb'tchurcn police.
