During the'hearing of a charge of bigamy brought against Henry Oliver Nelson, in the Police Court to-day, it was revealed that bis wife who is in England, , alo committed, bigamy. i Nelson was charged 1 with going through a -form of . marriage with a woman in Auckland in 1925, when his wife, whom he married’in ; 1917, m Plymouth, England, was still .alive.Accused was formerly leading stoker in the sloop Laburnum. Margaret McCallum, aged 31, said in evidence that she intended to remarry Nelson when ho got a divorce. He lied always.. treat jd her and their children well. The police produced a statement by accused saying that, in. 1924, he received a letter from his mother in England telling him that he was a ftes mail, ..He made no further inqufeies then;.-but had since •ascertained that bis- wife had married again ,m 1929. She said ip a statement that, she was happy and .never wanted to sre him • again,. • Accused was committed for sentence and allowed bail.,
