WEDDING BELLS

LAURENSQN—SPENCE, The wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church on Monday, of Agnes Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Spence of Hokitika, to Lyall Oliver, youngest son of Mrs Laurenson, Duntroon, Otago. The Rev. H. J. W. Knights performing the ceremony, and Miss Davies presided at the organ. The bride,. who entered the church on the arm of her father, was daintily gowned Jin an ankle-length frock of white georgette, With furtrimmed coatee. .Her daintily embroidered veil was ' held in position by a coronet of pearls and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white tulips, lily oh the valley and maiden-hair fern. 5 - White stocking and satin shoesjjcompleted her toilet. The bride was 1 attended by her sister. Miss Ivy Spence, who wore a dainty ankle-length frock of daffodil satin with shoes to tone, and mop cap of mauve tulle. She carried a bouquet of pink tulips and maiden-hair fern. Miss Colleen Spehce, sister of the bride, attended as flower girl, in a pretty frock-of mauve crepe-de-cheno, with mop cap to tone, and 'carried a posy of lilac and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom wa s attended by Mr F. Carter as best man.

After the ceremony a Reception was held at Mallocli’s tearooms, where the customary toasts were honoured, The young coxiple were the recipients of many useful gifts, including a number of cheques. They later left by train for Christchurch, where Hiey will in future reside. The bride travelled in a frock of red and green floral ninon, with hat to fbne.
