FURTHER TROUBLE ATTEMPT AT MURDER. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) DELHI, October 22. The Bombay presidency, which hitherto lias been comparatively free from revolutionary activity, was shocked by an attempt to murder an Indian deputy collector, who was shot at but was not injured. Hi’s assailant escaped in the darkness. A Hindu student and liis little sister were severely injured by an apparently premature explosion of a bomb in a Dacca house, where the police later found explosives and revolutionary literature. Rapid progress i s being made in the attempts to bring about communal political peace in the country. For the first time it can be said that the situation is hopeful. The Government is adamant towards appeals for the release of Mr Gandhi, and this has led to a movement to get prominent Hindus persuaded to call off the civil disobedience campaign.
