HOKITIKA GOLF CLUB. CAPTAIN v. SECRETARY TEAMS MATCH. On Saturday last the annual match Captain’s team v. Secretary’s team was played in intermittent showers. The .shelter shed erected by a working bee at- the beginning of the season, which so far has been rarely used, proved its worth. Owing to the unpleasant conditions and counter 'attractions tliere were several changes made in the teams as originally selected. The Captain’s team finally emerged the winners by 6 games to 4, In some coses the fables were turned in the matches playtcl for tbe finals and semi-finals of the club championships. The following are the individual resuite, Captain’s mentioned first: Che n.ey beat Adamson 2 *and 1, Steel beat Darby 4 ail'd "u, Cox beat Wilson 4 and 3, Cagney beat Finerty 5 and 4, Irwin boat nobilliard 4 and 3, Caliari lost to Tomlinson 3 and 2, Macfarlane lost to ;W. E. Brown 6 and 5, Cooke lost to Menzies 6 and 4, Rainger beat jHazeldine 4 and 3, Stark lost t° Warren 6 and 4.
HOKITIKA LADIES’ CLUB. L.G.U. DIVISION MATCH. The best cards returned for the October bog y match were: —Mrs Cooke 2 down; Mrs Caliari 2 down; Miss Adamson 3 down; Miss E. Cooke 3 down.
