TOWN PLANNING.
WELLINGTON, October 20. The fourth annual conference of the Town Planning Institute was opened to-day, Mr C. K. Grierson presiding Delegates were welcomed by Cr. Appleton on behalf of the Mayor. During the discussion arising from the report, of the Institute Legislative Committee, Mr J. W. Mason said the Committee’s function was to formulate new or amending legisation. Concrete Hind con'tructivo suggestions, he was sure, would be welcomed by tf.ic Board v.-lio were tly> administrative _ body. It was decided that in addition to llii’ electoral members of the Council, the Director of Town Planning for the time being shall be an ex-official member of the Council. A motion was passed to Iho effect that the Government be asked to give greater support to town and regional planning activities, with a view to increasing the efficiency of the national and local body administration.
