ANNUAL MEETING

POULTRY SOCIETY. The meeting of Hokitika Poultry, Canary and Pigeon Club was held last evening at the Horticultural Hall. There wer e present: —Afessrs C. Hart (President in the chair), F. Groufsky, G. King, R. Herring, F. Ballinger, J. J. Breeze, J. Pickering, W. E.* Richards, W. Hall and T. Lynch lacting secretary. The minutes were read and confirmed and outward correspondence approved. A quantity of correspondence was dealt with prising out of the last show, and (action taken was approved. It was resolved that an outstanding donation- b e paid by the Club where it had not been forthcoming. The balance sheet showed the year started with a credit balance of £33 14s lid and with this the total receipts amounted to £122 Is 8d (gate money at the show totalling £lB 13s 3d and entry fees £34 2s fid). The expenditure included prize money £36 6s fid, and advertising and printing £lB, the credit balance being £lB 10s 2d. Received. Mr J. Breeze moved the adoration of the report, stating he considered the year had been a very satisfactory one. He added that it lie a recommendation to the incoming committee to delete the rabbits and cats classes in next year’s schedule. Seconded' by Mr Herring, supported by Mr Richards and carried.

j MOTION OF SYMPATHY. Tiny Gliairinlan referred'to the great loss the Gliih bad sustained by the death of Mr ,1. Breeze. He had been the father of the Club and had' given suObnrb to the fa ’’ey for over fifty -years. J-Ir* bad been of great value and be deplored the less that hi*, death bad caused to the members of P>,o family and to the Club. Ho moved that tlio Committee record its deep seme of the loss sustained. Carried in silence. Mr -T. Breeze moved that a letter conveying the sympathy of the Club in his severe illness and wishing him a. speedy recovery he sent to Air 1). J. Evans, Patron of the Club. RecoTuUd by the Chairman and carried. Messrs IT. Park, P. McCarthy, F. Lewis and 0. ITavi.ll were elected as members.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officers were appointed : Patron—Mr D. J. Ewans. President—Mr C. Hart. Secretary and Treasurer.—Mr D. Breeze. Auditor—Mr W. E. Richards. Committee—Messrs C. Pfahlert, F. Hall, G. King, ,]. Pickering, R. Herring, T. Lynch, ,T. Breeze, E. Breeze, C. Sanders, W. Barrow, F. Groufsky, F. Bellinger, W. E. Richards, E. rfahlcrt, and H. Park. Mr M. 0. McKeehnie, Christchurch, notified per Mr Hall, a donation of a trio of white leghorns for next show.— Offer received with thanks. The trustees reported on repairs to the half had! been effected, and some further work was required,—Approved, to be given effect to. It \\%« resolved that Mr J. J. Breeze be elected to fill the vacancy ns trustee caused by the death of the late Mr J. J .Breeze. A silver medal was arranged to bo handed over to the Flying Club for a flying race.
