IX FREEZING WORKERS’ STRIKE. POSITION Off THE ABATTOIRS. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) WELLINGTON, October 19. The position at Ngahauranga ana. Petoiig was unchanged to-day. It wa& stated no further trouble had been experienced, and that no difficulty is being found in running the works. An assurance has been given that the city abattoirs will b e able to mamtain a meat supply for local requirements.
The question of the attitude of the attitude of the Freezing Workers Union toKai'ds the killing of meat at tl.ie abattoirs, which ordinarily would be carried out by the meat companies for local consumption, has been raised consequent upon an allegation tha? several of the abattoirs, employees have bean approached on behalf of the UnionMANAWATU MEN ENGAGED. MASTERTON, October 19. It. is reported that ten slaughtermen are accepting work under llie new terms, and will be engaged at Waingawa work's to-morrow. These men are being taken on to cope with a small number of stock that are on hand.
