A FRENCH VISIT
INTERESTING INCIDENT. - A delightful incident marked the visit to London of 600 French ex-ser-vice men from Normandy. Headed by a baud' and the standard beare/s k oi the British Legion, the. men inarched to the Cenotaph where their, leader deposited a wreath of poppies. They then marched to Westminster -Abbey to file past the, tomb of the Unknown Warrior. On an island refuge at the bottom of Whitehall, with his breast bearing many medals, stood a Chelsea pensioner. As the standards passed, up went his hand to the salute, and every one of the marching men saluted the veteran. Bringing up the rear were a number of British Legionaries, and one invited the old pensioner' to join their ranks. No second invitation was needed, the ranks opened and the veteran took his. place among the marching men. Age seenj.ed to drop from him, for his back straightened and his step grew brisker a® in his bright red coat he once again swung along with men on the march.
