The Canadian dollar touched a new high level on exchange on Monday, dosing keven-sixteeinths of a cent higher at ninety-two and fifteensixteenths cents, after reaching 93$ cents. Its strength is attributed in part to recent voluminous foreign grain shipments from the Dominion. Financial quarters also point to there being an improved economic situation in Canada in recent months, which has been reflected in a response by Canadian investors to flotations of bonds. It is considered a tribute to Canada’s banking position and to faith on the part of Canadian? in the future of their country. The “Journal of Commerce” says the Imperial Conference agreements have also had some effect on the situation.

The pound sterling closed unchanged here yesterday at 3 dollars 44$ cents for cables.
