MANITOBA FARMERS
DEMAND MADE FOR ASSISTANCE. (United Press Association —By Electric Teiegraph—Copyright,' WINNIPEG, October 18. of the five hundred farmers, .'who demonstrated at the steps of the Manitoba Legislative Buildings on Monday, told the Premier of Manitoba, Mr Bracken, their ‘struggle for their rights was being carried on by the Farmers’ Unity League. They said that it had just begun. It would continue until remits were forthcoming. They asked from the Manitoba Government that all of the far mars incomes should amount to at least two thousand dollars per year. that any land seized ’for the non-payment of taxes should b e given to poor farmers; that .the needy farmers shou.d be provided with free medical treatment, also fujl,.,education for their chddnyc Ru the high, and technical schools, clothing, motor licenses for the motor trucks, and with contributory insurance against old age, illness and incapacity.
