FROM MELBOURNE TO ADELAIDE. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, October 18. The air record between Melbourne and Adelaide, 415 miles, was broken by an American, in a Ryan monoplane, which was recently landed from the “Monterey”. The trip was done in 2hrs 40min. while the journey between Sydney and Melbourne was accomplished in 2hrs somin.
The crew consisted of A. Loew, J. Rosthal, and the American pilot, Capt. P. Dickson, who are flying round the world. The monoplane, which is named “Spirit of Fun,” yesterday flew from Adelaide to Alice Springs, in Central Australia, in four hours, refuelled, and began a non-stop flight to Wynclhant where they will take off for England.
