MINING
GOLDEN PROGRESS CO. The; secretary of the Golden Progress (Central Otago) Quartz Mining Company, Ltd., reports that dm big the past month the working out of ore from the east and west s-top&s was continued. The main work now is to be directed to the east end stopes, where or e of payable grade is being produced. A considerable amount of ore is still in sight. During the rn o nth the battery treated 108 tons of ore, which yielded 183 oz Bdwt of gold, and one and a half tons of concentrates, the value of which has not yet been assayed.
