A NEW TEST
CONCRETE-RUBBER IIOAU. London County Council officials have been engaged recently in a series oi tests with a new non-sk ; d road surfacing material of concrete and r'uboer, and the results, it is reported, have proved so satisfactory that a report has been presented recommending its adoption, The new material was perfected by a research worker in concrete and cement, who after experiments extending over four years, succeeded in overcoming the difficulty of combining rubber with lime compounds. For the concrete-rubber material it is claimed that it ’nas greater flexibility and w'-l] give .longer life to roads under modern traffic conditions. Tllie additional cost is roughly 20 per cent, on thfr of thi ordinary concrete road.
